Quarterly Student Expense Budget
TVCC Financial Aid establishes student budgets each year to approximate realistic costs of
attendance. Direct charges for tuition, fees, housing (on campus) and meal plan rates
are set on an annual basis by TVCC administration. Variable expenses such as books, supplies,
personal spending and travel allowances are set by TVCC Financial Aid and are
based on average student expenses.
The following student budgets have been established for the fall, winter, and spring quarters in the 2009-2010 school year. These budget amounts will be used in determining eligibility for assistance. For financial aid awarding purposes, any combination of financial assistance received by the student (including non-repayable grants and scholarships, educational loans and on-campus school year employment) from any sources cannot exceed the established student budget.

PLEASE NOTE: The example above reflects costs for
full time enrollment per academic quarter. Students enrolling for fewer than 12 credits per
term are assigned prorated/modified cost of attendance budgets according to actual
enrollment status. Also, modifications to the cost of attendance budget may be made
for dependent students living with parents or for child/dependent care expenses.
This information will help you in determining the resources you will need for each
quarter. "Traditional" students usually attend 3 quarters per academic year so plan accordingly.

Financial Aid Awards
Once you submit your financial aid applications, TVCC Financial Aid will create a
financial aid "package" for you. Your financial aid package is unique to you and is based
on the information you included with your applications as well as other factors such as availability of
funds, enrollment plans, financial aid history, etc. Be sure to monitor your application status often
using the Online Financial Aid System.
TVCC will notify you of your awards by mail once a package has been established for
you.

Payments - Your TVCC Student Account.
Each TVCC student has a student account that is managed by the Student Services
staff and the TVCC Business Office. When you register for classes, your student account is charged
for tuition, fees, etc.
Your financial aid awards are credited to your student account just
prior to the beginning of each term. If your financial aid awards exceed your charges,
the TVCC Business Office will refund the difference to you by check.
NEW! TVCC can now deposit your financial aid refund check (if applicable) directly into your checking or savings account. If you would like to sign up for direct deposit, you must complete BOTH a Financial Aid Distribution Authorization and a Direct Deposit Authorization and submit them to the TVCC Business Office.
